Americans will spend millions at the box office packing movie theaters to watch horror films, visit haunted encounters in houses, corn mazes, and closed down prisons. They will spend countless hours watching the Sci-Fi channel with a marathon of Halloween movies.
Yet when it comes to the message of the bible and what the bible says about hell and the devil most people turn a deaf ear or become offended because hell isn't real and God wouldn't send people to a place of horror like that and the devil isn't real either.
All of this attention to Halloween has di-sensitized us to the real horror story about the devil and hell. Part of the problem is we base our beliefs about hell and the devil on pop culture not the holy word of God.
The drastic measure of the cross and the great sacrifice of Jesus says there is something very bad and horrific that Jesus is saving us from. God cares enough about you to tell you the truth about who He is and who you are and He loves you so much that He provides an escape route from eternal punishment by sacrificing his only son Jesus Christ to save you from your sin.
Have you bought into the illusion of the world and become blinded and numb to the clear escape route to life and heaven through Jesus Christ?
