Hello. My name is Mike Phillips and I am Troop Master for Trail Life Troop 4120 Logan Ohio. I have been involved with the Troop since day one and that has been over 6 years now. I started when the Troop was formed at Immanuel UM church in Logan Ohio. In that amount of time I have served as a guide/ leader for the Navagators and Adventures and now I’m in the position of Troop Master which I have held going on for 3 years now. I have received the Highest award a young boy or Adult Male can earn in Trail Life and that is the Freedom Award. I was the first adult to receive it under our Point Man Anthony “Tony”Robinson . I had to pass a board of review which involved a panel of 5 people who asked me questions about Trail Life and what all I have done in the amount of time I was in the troop. One of the main requirements was I was to write a testimony about my faith and then I had to actually present it do the congregation during a church service. I done it for 2 services because the church has 2 services each Sunday. To be eligible to receive this award I also had to hold the rank of Eagle Scout ( which is the Highest award in Boy Scouts) and I earned that back in 1979 at Immanuel UM Church troop 99. I am also a member of the Freedom Rangeman Association which is for recipients of the Freedom Award. I look forward to serving the troop and working with my fellow adult Guides/leaders and the young Trailmen.
