From Series: "The Last Word"
Picture this: our daily lives are like a tug-of-war for the last word – whether it's in arguments, striving for success, or just wanting things our way. Our human nature is to stamp the end of the encounter with a passionate, lasting expression that keeps giving even after we're gone. Our new sermon series, "The Last Word" (starting on Sunday, March 3rd), will certainly address the common pitfalls and shortcomings of our flesh, but the main purpose is instead to see how Jesus completely flipped the script on what a "Last Word" actually is supposed to look like. In his final moments on the cross, Jesus could have interceded and called on The Father for a divine option #2 instead of the horrific death that he faced. He could have called down a legion of angels to save him and condemn the people who put him there. But Christ is not just a speaker of God's Word; He embodies it entirely. And so he intentionally chose his last words. He wanted us to know that he chose love. He chose forgiveness. He chose YOU. This series is all about unpacking the awesome truth that Jesus isn't just another chapter in God's story – He's the grand finale, the Last Word that echoes through eternity. Jesus, with His last words on the cross, redefines everything. It's not about selfish gains or winning arguments. It's about a love so deep that it turns our world upside down. We'll marvel at the cross, where Jesus didn't just speak the Last Word; He became it, showcasing a jaw-dropping level of selflessness. It's not just a theory; it's a lifestyle. Surrendering to Jesus, letting go of our need for control, is where true freedom lies. Let's lean into the Last Word of God, finding joy and purpose in embracing the selfless, radical love of Jesus. This series isn't just a bunch of sermons; it's an invitation to a life transformed by the ultimate Last Word.
