Giving is a popular topic. Maybe not in your house but it is in the bible but we don't like talking about money or giving and when we do we often hear the verdict, "that's all that church talks about, they just want my money and for what?" By popular vote the bible chimes in here. Of all the topics that Jesus talked about He talked more about giving than any other topic, in fact throughout the entire bible there are well over 2000 verses concerning giving and money.So why do the proponents of bad theology be the first to speak, "that's all we ever hear talked about, money?" So typically the pastor retreats from even teaching or preaching about it, or limits it to a once a year event and even then it’s uncomfortable. The mentality is kind of like, well we've got to do this.A vibrant missional church teaches and leads its people through difficult obstacles of finances and the contrast between bad theology and good theology in the matter of the stewardship of our time and money. Bad theology teaches us that, "I can give as little as I want to" whereas good theology teaches us that, "I should give as much as I can."
