Every race has a starting line or starting point and everyone who steps up to the starting line has a chance to win. When you step up to the starting line of a relationship with Jesus Christ He will be sure to get you through the race to victory lane. From the starting line to the finish line there are many distractions and hazards that can knock us out of the race just like on the race track. A race car driver has to his/her advantage a crew chief. A person who leads the pit crew, coordinates pit stops, makes sure the car is in tiptop shape, and stays in radio contact with the driver throughout the race. The crew chief sits high above the pit crew and actually has a much better view of the race than the driver does. The crew chief anticipates challenges in ways the driver can't. Without crew chiefs drivers would be on their own and that would create chaos on the track. Our lives are much the same way. We all need a higher authority to direct us, guide us, and help us steer through the challenges of life. By admitting we need God's help and guidance we are trusting that God is seeing the bigger picture, just as a crew chief has a better view of the track.
