The Walk to Emmaus is an experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers.
The Walk to Emmaus begins with a three-day experience of New Testament Christianity as a lifestyle. The objective of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, communities and places of work. Emmaus lifts up a way for our grace-filled lives to be lived and shared with others.
Our local Emmaus Community is Southern Ohio Emmaus and Women’s and Men’s walks take place Thursday evening through Sunday evening and are held at Camp Akita. To get involved in Emmaus, each person must have a sponsor who has already attended Emmaus him or herself.
We will be holding a Walk to Emmaus Information Trail where you may come to hear more about the Walk to Emmaus, experience first-hand testimonies from individuals who have participated in the weekend and get all of your questions answered. There will also be an opportunity to connect with a sponsor if you do not already know of someone who has attended Emmaus.
